We’re incredibly proud to have officially launched the Vibe, our all-in-one sensory and communication aid designed to bring reassurance, independence, and peace of mind to those who need it most. Compact and elegantly designed, the Vibe alerts users when a connected device has been activated. From smoke alarms to doorbells to flood sensors, the Vibe’s flexible system allows it to be tailored to individual needs, ensuring it fits seamlessly into daily life.
When a sensor is triggered, the Vibe communicates this through a combination of clear, accessible alerts. A bright strobe light and LED icons provide a visual cue, while a range of audio options, including multiple alarm tones and spoken instructions offer additional clarity. For users who need silent or tactile alerts, the Vibe also comes with a vibrating pillow pad that can sit discreetly under a pillow, helping ensure no alert goes unnoticed, even while sleeping.
Built with Purpose and Evolved with People
While the original concept behind the Vibe was to introduce a cutting-edge DDA solution for people living with hearing or visual impairments, the journey from idea to launch has been shaped by real people, real feedback, and real needs. Working closely with our customers throughout development has helped the Vibe grow into something much more than we first imagined. At its core, the Vibe remains a vital safety aid, especially for those who are deaf or hard of hearing. For someone who may not hear a smoke alarm, the strobe and vibrating pad become life-saving features. For someone with a visual impairment, a flood sensor alert can help prevent accidents before they happen.
Designed for Simplicity, Built for Flexibility
We knew from day one that the Vibe needed to be easy to use; no complex menus or complicated setup. With that in mind, we designed a straightforward voice-guided menu. A simple six-second press of a button takes users into the programming menu, and from there, the voice guidance leads the way. Whether you’re connecting one sensor or 24, adjusting LED icon locations, selecting different sounds, or switching the strobe on or off is all intuitive.
Originally, we planned a simple range of alarm tones. But during development, we asked ourselves: could spoken announcements make the experience even more personal? The answer was a clear yes.
Imagine this: Margaret, recently diagnosed with dementia and living alone, hears a calm voice from the Vibe say, “It’s time to take your medication” as her pill dispenser activates. That simple instruction could make all the difference to her daily routine.
Or take John, who spends most of his time in the back room and often misses his carers or visitors. When someone presses his doorbell, the Vibe announces, “There’s someone at your door”, no more missed knocks, no more worry.
Then there’s Clare, who finds traditional alarms sounds overwhelming. With the Vibe, she can opt for a clear, calm voice that simply says, “Smoke,” when a smoke detector is triggered, providing the same vital information, in a way that suits her needs.
The Start of Something Bigger
With a combination of visual, vibratory, audible, and now spoken alerts, the Vibe offers a truly personalised experience that adapts to different lifestyles and needs. You can explore more real-life applications in our Vibe brochure we-cair.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Vibe-Ebrochure-2025.1.pdf
But this is just the beginning. Our vision for the Vibe’s future is guided by our users, by the stories you share, the feedback you give, and the creative ways you integrate the Vibe into the lives of those who use it. We’re excited to continue this journey together, and we can’t wait to see where you take it.
Let’s shape the future of inclusive living, one alert at a time.
End.
