Position: Logistics Coordinator

Location: Halifax

Duties and Responsibilities

GOODS IN

  • Receiving and processing (booking in) all goods received
  • Carrying out inspections of goods received, checking quality, quantity and any damage 
  • Entering details of goods on computer system and matching to purchase orders
  • Reporting any inaccuracies, errors or issues immediately 

GOODS OUT

  • Accurately picking stock items in accordance with paperwork/customer requirements
  • Adequately packaging orders for safe delivery to the customer
  • Liaising with various carriers to arrange deliveries to customers 

STOCK CONTROL

  • Responsible for effective and accurate stock control
  • Accurately booking items in and out of stock
  • Kitting for Production and ensuring kit is available when required 
  • Storing parts in correct Stores location and creating new locations for parts as required
  • Using computer system to maintain accurate records, carry out stock transfers etc.
  • Assisting in stock takes
  • Lifting (up to 25kg) using safe manual handling techniques and, for heavy lifts, using mechanical manual handling aids or seeking colleague assistance 

GENERAL

  • Support the Supply Chain function as required
  • Adhering to the company’s policies, procedures and Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental guidelines in accordance with ISO standards
  • Keeping work area tidy and free from hazards, reporting potential dangers promptly 
  • Undertaking such other duties as may be required within the general scope of the job
