Striving for Excellence: Training and Development Success

We strive for excellence at every opportunity and that includes the training of our team.

Members of our team enrolled in an ISO 9001 Internal QMS Auditor Course. This training course upgrades skills, required to apply the new ISO 9001 process and conduct Quality Management Systems. The teams training was on the principles of auditing to ISO 19001 standards and IRCA (International Registration of Certified Auditors) guidelines.

The 2 day course consisted of lectures followed by practical work, ongoing assessments and discussions, that concluded with a final exam.

Operators from our production floor also enrolled in an IPC Certified Application Specialist (CIS) course. This 4 day course further perfected the operator’s soldering skills.

The standard describes materials, methods and verification criteria for producing high quality soldered interconnections. It also emphasises process control and sets industry-consensus requirements for a broad range of electronic products.

The 4 day IPC course also took place at our state of the art premises and consisted of both theory and practical lessons. During the theory lessons the operators were informed of industry recognised standards required for soldering.

Following the theory work, the practical lessons allowed the production team to apply this knowledge by intricately hand placing and soldering components onto circuit boards. This sets the new company standard for soldering capability.

Each day also included a practical test followed by a written exam.

The production team were successful in completing of the IPC J-STD-001 course.

All the team that completed the ISO 9001 Internal QMS Auditor Course also passed their exam. The team were presented with a training manual folder and certificate.
