Position: Production Manager
Location: Halifax
We are looking for an excellent Production Manager to join our Production department. Common sense, passion and teamwork are essential to succeed in this role. Ideally you will have an electronics manufacturing background with practical experience leading a team. The successful candidate will have a pragmatic and collaborative leadership style, with a keen focus on quality and continual improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for production and planning of daily operations
- Planning, scheduling and reviewing workload and resources to ensure targets are met on a cost-effective basis
- Following up on interruptions to orders
- Ensuring a high-level of customer service is maintained
- Responsibility for ensuring new product introduction meets design for manufacture
- Driving efficiencies and continual improvements
- Working closely with other departments
- Ensuring suitable and sufficient production controls are identified and implemented
- Responsibility for creating and updating build instructions as required
- Leading, managing and motivating the team
- Coordinating the team’s training and development to maximise capabilities
- Ensuring KPIs are set and achieved to meet business needs
- Responsibility for collating, generating and disseminating relevant data and statistical reports as required
- Attending and presenting at meetings, including regular team briefings
- Ensuring a positive working environment by promoting open communication and a positive ‘can do’ approach
- As process owner, establishing, monitoring and maintaining production systems and procedures to meet ISO standards for Quality, Safety and Environment
- Undertaking other such duties as may be required within the general scope of the job
